How can I keep up with new MAG Updates without having to check the site all the time?

Here is a guide to help you keep up to date with the latest posts made to the MAG blog via RSS. This means you don’t have to visit the site all the time to check for new content, a feed reader will do this for you and notify you when new content is added. Alternatively you can have the MAG blog send updates to your email, this service is described in the next section below.

You can subscribe to the blog by clicking on the the RSS feeder button at the bottom of the list at the left side of every page. The button looks like this:

To be notified of new posts on the MAG blog you need to find a feed reader that suits your needs. There are many different kinds including stand alone programs you can download , or plug-ins you can install into existing internet browsers like Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox.

Why not take a look at My Yahoo!, Newsgator, Bloglines or Google RSS readers, they are all free and fairly simple to download and/or install.

Can I just get MAG updates by email as usual?

Yes you can, the MAG email updates are still being sent out to those already on the MAG update subscriber list. However, bear in mind that MAG updates often include file attachments that can make them too large for some email inboxes although we try to limit the size of messages as much as we can. Also, sometimes MAG updates are intercepted by spam software, so you might miss an important update. The blog offers the same news without these problems.

There is an alternative, why not have the MAG blog send you updates to your email?

If you want to get updates sent to your email from the blog Subscribe to IFA MAG by Email (This link will take you to a different site which hosts this service, so make sure you are happy with the terms and conditions of this service before subscribing)
