English Heritage shipwreck designation selection guide

The fundamental role that boats and ships had played in British history is the reason why documents such as this guideline of protection by designation has been published by English Heritage.

The document covers the way we interpret maritime archaeological evidence since the last Ice Age until the industrial world. It ranges from a wide scope of ways to designate vessels of archaeological importance, the way designations have been seen historically, as well as all the different kinds of protection that maritime ships and boats are receive today.
